Well, good old FB has made changes that will affect all of us who have and use both business and personal profiles. This means we all have to change along with them. What's happening? There has always been an FB policy that personal profiles are to be used for personal interactions and they are cracking down on this policy now and are marking those posts as spam and deleting the post with book buy links, etc. that have been posted on your personal page, considering this business. I can attest that blog post links I’ve put on my personal page have been marked as spam and deleted. So, the good old days of posting about your books with buy links on both your personal page and business page are over. We will need to make a clear distinction and post anything non-personal on our business page, or in the case of us authors—our official author pages. FB has updated their TOS and instituted a Zero Tolerance policy that any personal profiles posting business related things will be shut down. What does this mean in regard to day-to-day activities for me on FB? My personal page will be just that. Nothing business/book related will be posted there any longer. All book release information, sales, giveaways, blog posts, and event promo posts will now be found on my author page only. Meaning, I will be stepping up my game on that page and interacting way more there, too. Another something I never knew until yesterday, FB has a page feed that is separate from our news feed. Thanks to fellow author, Suzan Tisdale for the info! The page feed icon is in the menu on the left-hand side of your screen. If you can't find it, put 'Pages Feed' into the search bar, it comes up. This is a feed of all the posts from the pages you like! If you never see the feeds from pages you like, you can now. https://www.facebook.com/pages/feed Also, you can select what pages you see first in your feed so you don't miss posts. However, it is my understanding that FB limits you to 30 of those. What can readers do to keep in the loop with their favorite authors? Like/Follow their official author pages. Other things to do? Make sure to Like, Comment, and Share Page Posts. What can my readers do to keep up with me and my work? Do all of the above, Like/Follow my author page: https://www.facebook.com/LSJRomance Join my closed Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SlipBetweenthePageswithLondon/ A few other sites where you can follow me: Of course, here on my website and blog! I've learned so much along the way, had ups, downs, wins, losses and have grown so much since that very first blog post all those years ago. While I loved having that blog to share my thoughts, crazy things happening in my life, posts about my works in progress, new releases, blog hops, and hosting a whole bunch of fellow authors (both established and just starting out) it was/is time to make some changes. So, after much consideration, London's Scribbles will no longer be utilized on Blogger. I am, however, leaving the old blog up, although it will no longer be active. If you wish, you can browse the archived posts from London's Scribbles. As you can see, I have left a note on the right sidebar with the link to my old blog just in case anyone would like access for a while. But from this point on, all blog posts will be found here on my website.
Let the new blogging journey begin! |
NOTE
London's Scribbles is no longer an active blog site. You can still access London's old Blogger blog if you wish to browse archived posts dating from December of 2010 to July of 2018 by clicking on the above link. Archives
